Frequently Asked, Honestly Answered
When is the best time to travel?
Tanzania is a year-round destination. The dry season, June to October, offers classic game viewing and the clearest Kilimanjaro climbs. The green season, November to May, brings fewer visitors, newborn wildlife and dramatic skies. We will advise the best window for what you most hope to see.
Is it safe?
Yes. Tanzania is one of Africa's most stable and welcoming countries. Your guide is trained and certified, vehicles are well maintained, and every day is planned with your safety and comfort first.
Do I need a visa?
Most visitors need a tourist visa, available online before travel or on arrival. You will need a passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages. Full guidance is sent with your booking.
What about health and vaccinations?
A yellow fever certificate may be needed depending on your route. We recommend a visit to a travel clinic, and anti malarial advice is included in your pre travel pack.
How fit do I need to be to climb Kilimanjaro?
You do not need to be an athlete, but good general fitness and some preparation help a great deal. Our routes are chosen for better acclimatisation, and we walk pole pole, slowly, to give you the best chance of the summit.
What is included in a private journey?
Private use of your vehicle and guide, accommodation, park fees, the listed meals and the experiences in your itinerary. Each journey page lists exactly what is included and any optional extras.
How do I book, and what deposit is needed?
A 30 per cent deposit confirms your journey, with the balance due 60 days before arrival. George sends a written confirmation and a simple, secure payment process.
What is your cancellation policy?
The terms are shared in writing with your quote and confirmation. We always aim to be fair and flexible, and we recommend travel insurance for peace of mind.
Can you tailor a journey for honeymoons, families or photographers?
Absolutely. Every Teva journey is private and bespoke. Tell us who is travelling and what you love, and we shape the journey around you.
How quickly will I hear back?
George personally replies to every enquiry within 24 hours.
