The land that changes you
must be kept whole.

Overview

Every journey we offer is built on a quiet, non-negotiable assumption: that the Tanzania we love today must still be here for the traveller who comes in fifty years. That the lion populations we study, the elephant herds we walk among, the forests we photograph, the communities we sit with, all of it must continue. None of it is guaranteed.

This is why every Teva booking is also a contribution. Not a donation. Not a charity. A contribution, to the stewardship of the land that makes our work possible and the depth we offer real.

How we steward the wild

Wild

How we steward the wild

  • We never approach wildlife closer than recommended distances. Ever.
  • We do not allow off-road driving in ecologically sensitive areas.
  • We keep vehicle numbers at sightings to a minimum, we leave space for the animal.
  • We operate silent, zero-waste game drives. No music. No food wrappers left behind.
  • We carry reusable water containers, no single-use plastic on our vehicles.
  • We follow the predator's lead. If they want distance, they get distance.
  • We photograph responsibly, never with calls, lures, or excessive proximity.
How we steward the people

People

How we steward the people

  • We employ local Tanzanian guides, drivers, cooks, and porters, never imported staff.
  • We pay above-market wages. Always.
  • Our Kilimanjaro porters are paid IMEC-certified wages, significantly above the industry minimum.
  • We source food for bush lunches from local farmers and markets.
  • We support local schools near the parks we visit.
  • We partner with the National College of Tourism, where George teaches, to train the next generation of Tanzanian guides.
  • We contribute to community conservation projects in the regions where we operate.
How we steward the operation

Operation

How we steward the operation

  • Carbon-aware route planning to minimise fuel consumption.
  • Digital-only documentation, no unnecessary printing.
  • Supplier selection based on environmental and community credentials.
  • Annual conservation contribution from every single booking, published transparently.
  • Annual stewardship report shared with every past guest.
We are not a perfect company.

A Note On Responsibility

We are not a perfect company.

We will not pretend to be. Conservation in Tanzania is an evolving, complicated, deeply political subject, and any operator who claims to have it figured out is not paying attention.

What we can promise is this: we are trying. We are getting better every year. We are honest about where we fall short. And we are committed to the long, slow, often invisible work of keeping this land whole, for our guests today and for the travellers who deserve the same quiet becoming fifty years from now.
